Originally opened in March of 1959, Busch Gardens is now owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. This is the second largest park in terms of attendance behind SeaWorld Orlando. In 2015, it hosted 4.2 million visitors.

Tigris
The Tigris coaster is the newest addition to the roller coaster line-up at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. With over 800 feet of track, the steel-launched ride will take riders through a series of looping twists and flips.
Tigris is the ninth coaster in the park’s collection. It joins the likes of Cobra’s Curse, Kumba, Montu and SheiKra.
This tiger-inspired roller coaster is expected to reach top speeds of 60 mph. It uses a linear synchronous motor (LSM) launch system and is the tallest launched coaster in Florida.
The coaster has an inverted heartline roll and a skyward surge. In addition to its 150-foot height, the ride will also include a non-inverting loop. A great place to also visit is Lithia Springs Park.
Cobra’s Curse
Cobra’s Curse is a brand new spinning roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. This new attraction combines storytelling, interactive elements and a terrifying backstory. It will usher in a new era of theme park experience at Busch Gardens.
The Cobra coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay features two-thirds of a mile of track, a vertical lift and a mid-course brake run. On average, riders will travel up to 40 miles per hour.
The queue for Cobra’s Curse is full of interactive elements and live snakes. This themed experience is created using projection mapping technology. Guests also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with a representative from the company.
Christmas Town
Christmas Town is a one-of-a-kind holiday experience that brings the season to life at Busch Gardens. Located in Tampa, Florida, this family-friendly event features seasonal food, dazzling lights, and awe-inspiring performances. It’s not too late to get your family in the holiday spirit.
The park has updated its Christmas decor and added some new and exciting attractions. This includes a 32-foot Christmas tree surrounded by jolly elves and a Coke canopy. In addition to the tree, you’ll find a variety of festive foods, a Sing-Along Train, and seasonal music.
The Christmas Town village is also home to the Sesame Street characters. These beloved characters will be decked out in holiday attire for the festivities. They’ll be available to meet and greet guests at varying times throughout the day.
Halloween
If you’re planning a family getaway to Tampa Bay in October, be sure to check out Busch Gardens’ Spooktacular. The event includes trick or treating, a costume parade, and story time. It’s all part of your admission to the theme park.
Busch Gardens Spooktacular will take place on weekends from noon-4pm from September 10th through October 30th. Children can dress up and join the parade, collect goodies from dozens of treat stations, and enjoy a magical spell casting experience.
For a more intense experience, try Howl-O-Scream. This year, the theme park will feature seven scare zones, five haunted houses, and electrifying entertainment. Aside from being a Halloween celebration, Howl-O-Scream is also designed to be a late-night party for adults.
Haunted houses
Halloween Horror Nights at Busch Gardens is an annual scare event featuring haunted houses, entertainment, and thrill rides. The 2007 event featured three new shows and five scare zones. Guests could also participate in a paranormal investigation.
